Switching to Insulin

Today I made an appointment with my doctor to discuss changing from Gliclazide and Avandia to insulin. Switching to insulin is often seen as a scary move, which is not that surprising when you consider tlat many doctors use insulin as some kind of "bogeyman" to scare diabetlcs into better blood glucose management. In my opinion, this is a scandal. The single most important thing for a diabetic is tight control of your blood sugar, and insulin does this better and has lower risk factor than a cocktail of meds. So, insulin it is for me.
